Moments Catch Fire On The Crests Of Waves/Mercury

Only info so far is from a November 8 diary entry:

Ideas bubbling under: A new vocal album which I'd like to record in an outside studio (but demo at home), and on which I intend to work with a variety of guest musicians. The feeling of the album should be quite ecstatic/reflective/emotional with the emphasis placed firmly in the vocal department this time. I'd like to try to make my voice (and the songs themselves) the central feature of the recording, any instrumentation simply playing a supporting role to this. Working title, for now, is : 'Moments Catch Fire On The Crests Of Waves.' Once the songs are written and sketched out in demo form in my home studio, the next step will be to choose various musicians to contribute to the various tracks. Rather than assemble one band to do the entire album, I'd prefer the freedom to work with different combinations of individuals according to the needs of each piece of music and even to tackle some pieces on my own if neccessary. I'm hoping that this approach will give me some clues as to what direction any future live work may take.   Also, as a companion piece to the vocal album, a new, home studio recorded album of guitar instrumentals, a sort of 'next step' from the 'Dreamland To Starboard' project. Working title for this, at the moment, is 'Mercury.' I may even package this album with the vocal album, as a double set.
