Participants include: Deena Weinstein (author, Heavy Metal: A Cultural Sociology), John Etheridge (concert and masterclass), keynotes by Andy Bennett and Kevin Dawe (co-editors, Guitar Cultures), Bill Nelson (live interview with Simon Warner, director, PopuLUs), the James Birkett/Rod Sinclair Jazz Guitar Duo (performance).
Paper topics include: Van Halen, Kenyan benga, the Mothers of Invention, South African maskanda, Charlie Christian, the Cuban tres, John Fahey, songwriting and composition.
