to me I will pass it along to y'all. I'm sure that there will be many
other items up for sale at the auction and would suggest the Fans consider
helping out by bidding on some of the other auction items as well.

With Alan Myers currently not taking any orders for the recent run of albums by Bill a ray of shining light peaks through the stain glass windows to illuminate the world for us. Bill sent me the following notice and asked that I share it with all of you. Read on...
Important Announcement From Bill Nelson To All Nelsonians:-
"I understand
that many of you have been experiencing some difficulties in obtaining Bill
Nelson albums in recent weeks. You may have seen notices on both the UK and
US websites stating that the albums are not available for sale. I'm pleased to
say that this is no longer the case. The introduction of a new, temporary,
online store has made the albums available once again, thanks to Sound-On-Sound
magazine who have kindly offered to provide an international mail-order service
for fans who wish to obtain items of merchandise. So...Bill Nelson albums and
collectables can now be ordered for prompt delivery via BILL NELSON MUSIC which
resides within Sound-On-Sound magazine's online store. To see exactly what's on
offer and to place your order, log onto http://www.soundonsound.com/shop which will get you
to the Shop start page where you need to select your Country to proceed. Then
simply click on the department titled 'Bill Nelson Music' from the menu.
The store accepts credit cards too, a facility previously unavailable for
those fans wishing to buy on line. Please note that the Sound-On-Sound shop is
now the only outlet for Bill Nelson merchandise and all orders
should be directed there and not to RWBV. Many thanks for your cooperation."
November 12, 2004:
Bill's speaking engagement at the Leeds University on November 27 has been expanded to include a 30 minute solo guitar set. In addition, there will be copies of Bill's Diary of a Hyperdreamer available for sale. So those who missed out on the recent tour AND Nelsonica here is a good chance to see listen to Bill's comments on music, guitars, etc. Plus, you can see Bill in concert and to pick up some limited edition CD's.
September 6, 2004:
Pomona
Books has provided an update of the information regarding the publication
of Bill's 'Diary of a Hyperdreamer.' Pomona
mentions that all customers ordering through the Pomona web site will receive
a CD music sampler from Pomona
Music, including a band called "Black
September" who samples Be Bop Deluxe in their song! If that isn't
enough to whet your whistle, they also mention that Bill receives a greater
portion of the proceeds of the sale than if you purchase it through Amazon.
(Amazon-UK
only at this time, not available at the US web site.)
August 18, 2004:

made as there are still a couple of cities/venues that are not confirmed. Bill
doesn't want to announce all of the concerts until each and every one is confirmed.

at work with said guitar.
October 13, 2003:
A very favorable
review of Whimsy appears on the "Astro-Zombie"

October 1, 2003:
Bill
mentions in his diary that he has met with Mark Hodkinson of Pomona Publishing
to discuss compiling his diary entries into book form. More details to
follow.
August 17, 2003:
An article in 'The Independent' contains an article talking about the
"independent music scene" and makes mentions of Bill in it. Bill
cites this article in his latest diary entry. Read
the full article here: 'The
Independent'.
July 23, 2003:
There has been a lot of concern about the forthcoming "Flashlight Dreams
and Fleeting Shadows" DVD about whether it will play in other
regions. (For those who don't know, DVD's are coded for different regions,
to slow the pirating efforts of evil people. Of course, there is always
DeCSS...) i have been assured that the disc will be for ALL regions, in
essence, no regional coding is to be used.
June 11, 2003:
Bill will be playing a series of small

November 24, 2002:
Holyground
Studios, the same people who
worked with Bill way back in the dark ages of music, are currently
running a special 20% discount on "Electrotype",
an album with many older songs by Bill and others. This album
also includes the rare (and i mean RARE) "Riders of My
Love". This song was a staple of the early Be Bop Deluxe but never
appeared on any album, not even bootlegs. There is also an
alternate version of 'Jet Silver and the Dolls of Venus' that varies
greatly from the song released on "Axe Victim". (Personal opinion:
This version is better than the released version.) This is a
great album, as it gives new insight to Be Bop Deluxe that is not
available anywhere else. Link here:
http://www.holyground.co.uk/electrevu.html
October 14, 2002:
Bill collaborated with "Sea of Wires" on
their new release: "Leaving the Electric Circus". The track is
entitled "The Sunglass" and the CD available through the Sea
of Wires web site.
July 12th 2002:
Bill has put together a band, called "The
Lost Satellites" for this year's Nelsonica fan fest in September.
He has been spending an inordinate amount of time getting this project
off the ground and is happy to report a lot of success in this
arena. Also, Bill has given approval to placing a couple of songs
from 'Noise Candy' on his MP3.com site. The songs have been
uploaded but it will take the people of MP3.COM a few days to approve
the songs for free download. Stay tuned to the Electrical
Language Mailing List for information as to when the songs are ready to
go.
June 29, 2002
Our man Bill has been quite prolific of
late and provided us with another diary entry.
June 28, 2002
A new diary entry has been added, Bill
talks about the passing of The Who bassist John Entwistle. He
talks about meeting Pete Townshend and almost meeting John. (And
for those of you who've been in a limbo for the past decade, Bill met
Roger Daltrey at the Mick Ronson Memorial Concert in 1994.)
June 27, 2002
Added a new diary entry in which Bill
talks about his preparations for Nelsonica. Rock 'n' Roll fans
worldwide are saddened by the untimely passing of John Entwistle of The
Who. A CNN press release can be read here. i
know it has nothing to do with Bill, but i will sadly miss 'Ox'.
There will never be another to replace him.
June 17, 2002:
There is a new diary entry. Bill
touches on latest issue of the 'Noise Candy Curse'. Nice musings
on David Bowie's album 'Heathen' and how it relates to Bill and his fans.
June 9, 2002:
Giving you the best news first:
NoiseCandy is shipping!! I've heard from Paul Page that he is now
mailing NoiseCandy to all who have pre-purchased it. Not all
shipments are taking place the same day so it might be a couple of weeks
until YOUR copy shows up. Paul also mentioned he would try to
email each recipient when his/her copy ships.
Second best news: In his new diary entry Bill refers to a quote from 'The Times' that I forwarded to him. Below is a copy of that mini-review. My thanks to David Evans for sending me that review, I appreciate it and, as you can read on the diary page, Bill appreciates it as well.
...from the Times, Monday 3 June on the Stuart Adamson Tribute concert.
"On a somewhat different tack, guitarist Bill Nelson, formerly of Be Bop Deluxe, performed an instrumental piece of such spine-tingling beauty, composed for the occasion, that it made you wish the man would appear more often."
June 2, 2002:
I have updated the Be Bop Deluxe discography
page to include information about the recent release of "Tremulous
Antenna". There are also links to Hux Records and to Amazon.UK from
where you can purchase copies of the album. There is no confirmed
release date in the States, but both Hux Records and Amazon.UK are
trustworthy business partners and are willing to ship worldwide.
May 21, 2002:
Bill provides his thoughts and feelings
at the four year odyssey getting 'Noise Candy' out the door to his
fans. Comments can be found on the 'Noise Candy'
page of the Discography section.
April 23, 2002:
New diary entry from Bill. He
appears to have run afoul of the technology gods this past week and
details some of the problems. A little more insight into the
progress, or lack thereof, with 'Noise Candy'. Plus a small teaser
regarding the upcoming Nelsonica '02 festival this year.
March 22, 2002:
New diary entry from Bill. More
reflections on the 'What is Art?' theme. Brief updates on 'Noise
Candy' and a problem with 'Whimsy'. Also, some thoughts about his
next project, a possible major change of focus in his life. There
is an article/interview with Dave Singleton, sound man for DGM.
Mentions his work with Bill and other artists. Available at
'Recording' magazine online: Recording Magazine
March 2, 2002:
In his latest diary entry Bill gives
details about the almost-completion of The Noise Candy experience. Plus some news about the 'Whimsy' CD's,
the DVD project, and the release of the impossible-to-find 'Chameleon'
album.
December 31, 2001:
Bill sends a new diary entry, reflecting on the tragic death of Stewart Adamson, of Big Country. He also mentions the progress, or lack thereof, on the upcoming 'Noise Candy' and 'Whimsy' projects.
October 20, 2001:
The American pop group Eye
Talk has a new CD called Phoenix
coming out in February 2002. There will be special guest
performances by international recording artists Steve Jansen, Iva
Davies, Jerry Donato, and samples provided by David Sylvian, Bill Nelson, and John Serrie.
October 16, 2001:
Bill Nelson: "Elle and I are in the
November issue [of British GQ], our photo's appear on page 70 as
part of a feature on Tommy Hilfiger's new denim range. Elle and Elliot
modelled for Hilfiger earlier this year. The feature is about the
choice of models, ( Mark Bolan's son, Mick Ronson and Ian Hunter's
daughters, plus my kids,) who were all photographed by 'legendary' '70's
photographer, Mick Rock for the ad. campaign, which starts properly
early next year."
September 27, 2001:

Expect a late 2001 release, tentatively.
August 6, 2001:
Regarding Bill's forthcoming album Whimsy.... from his August 6th diary entry:
As for the proposed 'Whimsy' album, I may have muddied the waters with my last diary entry which stated that the album would be available via the internet only. What I actually meant was that it would be advertised as a mail-order album, only on the internet, and not available via the usual channels. It will be a 'proper' c.d. and not an MP3 download, as some may have interpreted. This will be a very limited, direct from artist to listener production, a hand made artifact unlike any previous offerings. And, hopefully more special because of it. )
Despite the foregoing, there will still be some 'sample' tracks from the album made available as an MP3 download in the near future... Once I can find time to master them at Fairview studio.
July 29, 2001:
From the Honeytone Cody web site - Elliot will be doing some solo stuff later this year with Bill producing.
June 12, 2001:
Channel Light Vessel's Automatic and Excellent Spirits CDs are once again available. They've been reissued by the Voiceprint label in England. You can order these two releases from Amazon.com right now.

February 23, 2001:

Click the link for more details, including a track listing. Purchases can be made via PayPal (internationally via Mastercard and Visa) or by Sterling Cheque to Holyground's address (listed on their web site).
Regarding Simplex's first proper release (via the Lenin Imports web site):
Lenin Imports indicated that you can email them to leave your name, country, and quantity you wish to order. Your email will be stored in the Lenin Imports Simplex database. When Simplex is released Lenin Imports will contact you with the price and ordering instructions and can then reaffirm your wish to purchase the CD.
Lenin Imports also announced that they wish to do some merchandising with the release of Simplex and are interested in doing a 12" art print and are interested to hear what fans would like to see. Again email them with your thoughts.
Bill had worked with Sea of Wires/Justine Walker on a collaboration last year called "The Sunglass Project". This was planned to be released in 2000, but will be delayed until next year. (thanks, Anthony)

Bill's album Whistling
While The World Turns which was released earlier in 2000 by
Lenin Imports, is now seeing UK/EU distribution into shops via
Caroline2. Lenin Imports says if all goes well Simplex and Noise
Candy will be distributed through Caroline2 as well. In
America you can now buy Whistling
through Amazon.com. Additionally, there have been reports of
copies of Whistling showing up in "Bill Nelson" sections in some record
stores.
November 6, 2000 -
Paul Page at Lenin Imports has indicated to me that he has secured UK distribution of Whistling While The World Turns, the upcoming Simplex release, and possibly future recordings via Caroline2. A US distributor also appears to be in the works. This means that those of you who wish to purchase via your local shop or online retailer will be able to do so in the future.
"I have now completed 14 videos in my ' Videogram' series. Although it now looks unlikely that these will be available as internet downloads through D.G.M. as originally planned, there is a possibility that they will be made commercially available through D.G.M. as V.H.S.cassettes and / or DVD discs, as a mail order item. This possibility is currently under discussion, I believe. Should this plan not work out I would then consider making them available through Lenin Imports, so, one way or another, they will eventually be seen in public.
The titles are as follows:
There is also a rather beautiful 'video diary' of my South of France holiday which I've edited to several pieces of my music. It lasts around 15 / 20 minutes and is called ' RIVIERA DREAMS.' I'd like to make this available sometime as a strictly limited edition.
October 1, 2000 - Lenin Imports in the UK has made the following announcement:
"Lenin Imports proudly announce that our next scheduled release from Bill Nelson is the first 'proper' release of Simplex, the 'lost' Nelson ambient album from the early 90s.

"In Nelsonian folklore, Simplex is the ultimate collectable. It has a
mythical quality generated by its infamous past. It should never have
been released and due to legal reasons was pulled when an unknown
quantity had already been sold to members of the fan club run by Bill's
ex-manager, Mark Rye. To this day no-one is sure of the exact numbers
sold but for sure it is only a small amount. When Simplex does come
onto the market the price is in the hundreds of dollars region! It is
the ultimate Nelsonian rarity!
"The release will not be under the Cocteau label but a new one that
Bill is thinking about.
"No release date or price for this release is yet available. The
artwork for it is being re-done at the moment by the David Sylvian
collaborator, Yuka Fujii who worked on the Whistling While The World
Turns project. But it makes commercial sense for it to be released
before Christmas and that is the aim at the moment. More
details will appear here as soon as they are available.
"Presently, we are working on getting this release into the shops in
the UK, Europe, Japan & North America. When these deals are in place
details of the retail outlets will appear here. This will help keep the
postage costs down and give customers a choice of where to obtain the
CD. It will also mean that non-internet fans will get a chance to
obtainthis release - customers we unfortunately neglected for the
Whistling release and a mistake that will not be repeated. And
following on from that, this release will be advertised in the music
press so nobody misses out this time around.
"However, if you are afraid of missing out, you can request more
information now. Click
here to e-mail Lenin Imports, leave your name & country from
which your ordering and units you are interested in. Your e-mail will
then be stored in our Simplex database and at the release date you will
be e-mailed again with the price and ordering instructions and at that
point you can make a decision on whether to buy the CD or not.
"We are also planning to release merchandise with this release and
would be interested to hear by e-mail what the fans would like. I have
got an idea to do a 12" art print with the release and would be
interested to hear what fans would like released. Please feel free to
use the e-mail link above to tell us your thoughts.
"We are not taking any phone calls or faxes for Simplex at the moment
(we do not have any further information) but when we are we will let you
know here. - mailto:lenin@netcomuk.co.uk?subject=Bill
