The Guardian on Monday included a short reader-written obituary of Mark Rye, who has "died suddenly" at the age of 66. Bill should not feel he needs to comment, but for those of us who used to send our magazine subscriptions to Thames Ditton in Surrey (where he lived) and were later sad to hear how that working relationship crumbled, it's best to be aware of Mr Rye's passing.

How strange, Mike N .

Thought MR had left us some years ago ?

So many Bill Nelson items had "Thames Ditton Surrey" written somewhere on them .

Harvest Records and Roland Rat??

Mark Rye was one in the eye for our sweet William at the Time.

Hopefully we can wish him well on his next journey

He lived a decent life in a very decent part of Surrey U.K.
I stayed there on a few occasions in Surbiton.

Interview with MR on New Zealand's National Radio from a couple of years ago. No mention of Bill/Be Bop but some recollections of Harvest times. Didn't know that Sex Pistols had been earmarked as a Harvest band when they signed to EMI.

I heard about Mark Rye's death a couple of weeks ago. Though I suffered many problems as a result of him managing my career, the news came as something of a shock. This is neither the time or place to rake over those old troubles again. My sympathies go out to his family.
