From Mick Karn.com

It's with profound sadness that we have to inform you that Mick finally lost his battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at 4.30pm today, 4th January 2011 at home in Chelsea, London. He was surrounded by his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all.

A very sad day to a great musician :(

Just heard that Gerry Rafferty has passed away too. RIP

Goodbye Mick.

This is truly horrible.A part of me thought he might have pulled through.
Sadly not to be.

I'm deeply saddened to hear of this. I too was hoping that there was some chance of recovery for Mick, or at least a respite and extension of his life. It's like a knife to the heart. I pray that Mick's loved ones will find some way to endure this and gather some solace and warmth from the love that other friends and fans of Mick will send them. I'm so sorry.

Oh no. I'm just starting to really get into his solo music...

I don't know what to say. Even though we knew he was sick its just sucks. :(

Such a loss to the world. He gave so much to his music & could command & control with such style a fretless bass never mind an ordinary bass. No one has or will ever be able to achieve what he did for music.
RIP Mick

I too hoped he would pull through. He was an important player in my musical life.

From Japan's appearance on The Old Grey Whistle Test to his last album 'The Concrete Twin'. I am proud that his unique talent struck a chord wtihin me.

He will be missed, always.
