The Balls Park College, Hertford gig with Be Bop Deluxe supported by Chopyn is definitely 1975. I found a ad which states that it took place on a Saturday. From there I could work out that neither 14th June 73 or 74 were Saturdays whereas 14th June 1975 was!

The same date (Saturday 14th June 1975) as the Golders Green Hippodrome concert recorded by the BBC

Well, we certainly wouldn't have been able to do the two gigs on the same day, and if the BBC has the recording of the Golders Green concert as 14th June 1975, well, I'll take that as the definitive answer to where we were on that day.

I appreciate that some of you guys want to document all the band's gigs and get everything in strict chronological order, but to be honest, it's a very long time ago and there's bound to be errors and confusion. I don't waste any sleep thinking about all that kind of stuff, I'm afraid. I simply remember that we did a heck of a lot of gigs, played to a lot of people, had a lot of fun doing so. A chapter written in the sand, but here comes the tide..And that's ok too. .

I think 14 june 1975 was the transmission date for the Hippodrome gig and it would have been recorded earlier.
Also to muddy the waters a little more 'Timeglider' has BBD playing Oxford Polytechnic on 14 june 1975 on the Futurama tour. :?

Just to clear the waters completely ..
and speculation..

'Timeglider' is 100% wrong.. only on this one, otherwise pretty sterling stuff

The BBC Recorded Seven Tracks Of Be Bop Deluxe At The Golders Green Hippodrome on SATURDAY 14th June 1975.
There is A Distinct Announcement from the 'Compere' that if you missed Be Bop Deluxe on this tour there is one more date
which is the NEW VICTORIA THEATRE Tomorrow Night SUNDAY 15th June 1975.

No Chopyn on 14th June
No Oxford New Theatre On 14th June

I think the compere would have known the transmission date of the recording when he made the announcement for the radio audience, so no point in referring to gigs that had already happened before that date.

There's a poster here - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371911851858 - which lists Jun 14th as Oxford Poly.

The tour was on a tight schedule, and it's not easy to see where they could have fitted in an extra London date before the 14th.

Would BBD - or its management, more likely - have cancelled the Oxford date to do the BBC show in London?

Were 'In Concert' programmes transmitted live ? It went out at 6.30pm on 14th of June. I would have thought they would have been recorded in case of any technical issues. Does your recording include Rab Noakes who also features in the programme listing ? How long is the Be bop section ?

Can't rule out the transmission would be different to recording although the Queen christmas eve simulcast was live on 24.12.75
there are two dates in the BBD tight schedule (4th/10th) with no concerts..
The theory of the compere always pretending to be in another time and space seems in the long term rather confusing?
For everyone !??

I Would hope the Hippodrome concert could be included on the new Futurama Deluxe edition with a definitive date of event & transmission taken from the BBC Archive records????

Cherry Red are listing the date as 23rd May 1975.

According to the poster here - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371911851858 - BBD were playing in Newcastle that day

That's my last word here - see you in the new Dreamsville!
