Ken Bruce on radio 2 has been a good sport over the years playing Ships in the Night. If we all email him saying it is Bill's 70 th birthday on Tuesday he may play a track .See if he will play Maid in heaven for a change so if we all ask for Maid in heaven we may get it played
good luck

Here is the email

Good idea, gakx . Maybe Ken even something more daring and more recent than those two, maybe even Flaming Desire ?

I would have gone for a solo track, too. And 'Flaming Desire' is one of my favourites. It would be nice to have something recent though, but probably unrealistic, given the workings of mainstream radio.

F.D. is another hit song and is more recent than those BBD hits .

So many should-be radio hits, like, for random examples ... Moments Catch Fire On A Crest of Waves, Luna On the Beach, Golden Balloon, Do You Dream in Colour?, Wild Lilac, Rockers of the Rosy Cross , Big Yellow Moon, Rise Like A Fountain, No Time Says The Clock (Version 1 and/or 2) ...

But ... yeh .... one could imagine that in terms of actual hits, why not at least get to a little more recent than BBD, at least get to Flaming Desire ? :)

Not sure if I’m in the midst of an ear infection delirium but didn’t Mark Radcliffe interview Bill a few years ago and play “The Ocean, The Night and the Big Big Wheel” off The Alchemical Adventures...., might be worth a punt?

There was one with Tom Robinson, if I recall...with a track from Sailor Bill and a live acoustic number.
