Bugging Me starts out with the line 'Big noise from another world' ...
My parents used to sing a song called
Big Noise from Winnetka that had this strange whistling in it and a sort of Gene Krupa drum pattern at a certain point .
Always thought it was pretty out there for Liz & Dave [my parents] .
Their tastes were kinda quirky though, I guess, now that I think about it, what with Tom Lehrer, Spike Jones and Stanley Holloway often on the turn table .
But apparently
Big Noise from Winnetka was a big hit around 1939/1940 .
So ... maybe your parents sang this song as well ?
