Bill, Just wondered whether you had considered featuring another voice or other voices as well as your own. Heather Findlay - from York, as it happens - was one that came to mind, but there are a lot of great female singers out there who might add something special to William's musical World.

I haven't really felt that this was possible, (or necessary,) as my home studio is very idiosyncratic, has various technical faults and wouldn't be comfortable for another vocalist. There are so many limitations and quirks that I've gotten used to over the years and know how to work around but bringing in someone else to sing would be embarrassingly problematic. Also, I couldn't imagine giving my lyrics, which are quite personal, to another person to sing. The lyrics and my voice are somehow complimentary, welded together. It would be kind of uncomfortable to hear them coming from someone else.

Understandable .

More Emiko!

I love it when she says, "Astro Coaster".

“Blazing apostles, can I help you”.

As much as I love Bill’s voice, (it has been with me for most of my life) I think another vox could be interesting sometimes. Having said that, I’ve always been in awe of Bill’s lyrics and vocals more than any other aspect of, for example, his Be Bop recordings, which seemed to sum up my youth.. Even the guitar came second.

I sing, (try to sing) but could never get the expressiveness that Bill gives in his vocals....but, sometimes a different tone might add. Kate St John worked.

I have been zinged for my habit of singing Roses & Rocketships in the car. Less we forget the "found sounds" instrumentals and how Bill creates lyrics / moods / textures to his songs. I would buy another Channel Light Vessel album. Or a box set. I think that there is a live concert somewhere in the archives.
