According to Northern Dreamer (the Guide to Bill Nelson's Music) we have this release down as 25 November 1981 although having just checked the calendar I suggest this is not correct either as albums were issued on Fridays in the UK back then and 25/11/was a Wednesday..... :?

I can't remember the source for this that John and I agreed on but 22 December is certainly too late for its release (unless you are talking non-UK territory - was it even released outside the UK though?)

I was away at college (living in Middlesbrough) when Das Kab came out and I recall taking the bus to Stockton on Tees (on a Saturday)to my nearest HMV to buy this album in the week of its release (incidentally where I also bought Permanent Flame the Beginners Guide box set in 1982) and this was before the end of term before I came home for Christmas (which was on 19th December - the Saturday before Christmas that year - a memorable journey because of the heavy snowfall that covered the UK that winter). So while I can't offer a definitive date I would suggest that mid-late November is most likely (either 20th or 27th).

I hope that helps.

Mick

I think I used the calendar-as-dartboard method, if memory serves.

Merry Christmas Mick!

Maybe the US release.

Anyway, another anniversary.
