Ok, fair enough. 6K is a wee bit small.

I've upped the filesize limit to 65,000 bytes (65K) which should be ample for anyone. If using Photoshop always "save for web" to optimise image sizes and colour depth (it removes colours that are not used from your colour space).

I appreciate not everyone here will be a Photoshop wizard, but maybe someone who is could act as Avatar Optimiser for other members?

cheers,
Ian G

I'm happy to optimize any image a Dreamsville member wishes to use as their Avatar. Just give me a little time. :)

Once more, Mig In Yorkshire!

Send me the image via: wadcorp@swbell.net

Let me know of any cropping. I'll see if I can get it to the proper size & such.

Even if it's not 80k…

Hmm…

I've got an optimized avatar of only 60k, and while there is no alert that the file is too big or something is wrong, it's still not uploading to the Profile.

Græmlins again…

All of the other restrictions apply too, so if it's 1px over 80 x 80 the software will not upload it.

It defaulted to 6K setting, so perhaps there is genuinely a technical limitation plumbed into the forum software code somewhere that has it hardwored as 6K, and is overriding the admin setting I have applied of 65K. I'll do some fishing and see what I can find/fix.

Hey! Mines not showing up either! I just checked the image stats: 78 x 80 pixels, 19K. What gives?
Tom
