I have an Irish video recorder. It tapes programmes I don't like and plays them when I'm out.....(sorry, but I like that old joke)

"Of course it is possible to upset someone on almost any subject - the other day I heard someone say that the Fawlty Towers episode with the deaf woman was insulting to deaf people, and this was broadcast on a radio 4 show about the treatment of disability in humour."

Mind You the protests fell on deaf ears

Yes indeed. Constant moaning about one's own afflictions gets old very quickly. Accept for the afflicted, most people tend to realise this naturally.

Fellini, I believe you'll find it was only Cawthorne and in the end, the doctors said it was actually Men-o-pause.

If there is ever a retooling of this forum's software is there any chance of adding a "rock on" emoticon?

For example:

.... or some such.

Alan: 2008. You don't remember any of this? It was quite amusing at the time. You had mentioned that you were under the weather - so to speak. But obviously on another thread. And here it get's fuzzy for me, because somehow it was implied as a sexist remark. But that's all I remember. It was 2008 - half a lifetime ago. Nothing changed, everyone still loved at the time and still do. So I guess you missed nothing. Just forgotten a typical wickedly amusing day back then at Dreamsville.
