Life's funny sometimes....The song that's been buzzing 'round my head, way more than anything else for the last two or three weeks, has been "Everybody's Happy Nowadays"..don't know why, no real reason, it's just been there....in fact I nearly put it up as single track of the day a couple of times, but seemed to get distracted/diverted/too busy/real life, and didn't.

Great songwriter, magic music, dynamic era....great days

Always loved "Another Music In A Different Kitchen", (another) fine debt album, and for anyone not too familiar that may want to give Buzzcocks a go, try the 'singles going steady' album, you can't go wrong..

RIP Pete Shelley.

It's nice to see him getting recognition, though he deserved more in his career. His music was important to me for a couple of reasons. His songs during the late 70s were often funny, witty, and even poignant at times in a way that few 'punk post-punk' acts managed or even considered. Some of them are all-time classics. Beyond the music, his refusal to conform to gay/straight paradigms was brave. For all their sound and fury, many 'punks' were still very conservative and knuckle-headed when it came to issues of sexuality.

I think his songs will live on.
