Gone now, but saw an unusual one at the York Barbican the other week...James Martin (Chef, cook, food bloke}...two hours of pissing about basically, he got a bit hyper at times, prefer him under the restraints of the BBC :D

After the horse has bolted...but
last Wednesday my dear lady and i saw Katie Melua at the Barbican in York ,she was appearing with the Gori Women's Choir who are from Georgia.Bloody brilliant night she has such a wonderful voice, the Choir just added something very special.Unknowingly purchased Meet & Greet tickets (thought they were expensive but what the hell,i wanted to see the girl sing) No details about the Meet & Greet so when i noticed other tickets on another site for similar price but saying it was Meet & Greet . i had mixed feelings...first feeling was ..this is wrong details should have been on screen to say exactly what was what, secondly ...bollocks lets go enjoy the night. We've both been pretty stressed of late and a good night out wouldn't go amiss.
After the show we met Katie and it wasn't the stand in line have a photo, sign a cd and piss off routine ,we had individual photo's with Katie and a group one, and instead of signing the one item each as stated on the terms of the package i got 8 signatures on CD inserts, a photo given of her on the night, concert ticket and a photo i found on the internet, which for some reason i couldn't print off so i took a photo of the computer screen image with my phone then emailed it to myself, viewed it then took a screenshot and finally printed it off...and breath!
Wasn't sure she'd sign that one due to copyright but she happily chatted and signed everything.....what a lovely lass ,her husband is in a band too called Toseland, never heard of them but will try youtube for a listen out of curiosity, they supported Deep Purple not so long back..gives me an idea the musical difference between him and Mrs Toseland could be pretty vast

The Flesh Eaters upcoming shows

Image

The Flesh Eaters, LA’s unconventional “supergroup”, reunites the classic 1981 lineup of Chris D, Dave Alvin, John Doe, Bill Bateman, Steve Berlin, and DJ Bonebrake for I Used to Be Pretty their first new recording in more than 35 years. The LA Weekly described the band as “a Hollywood institution, one who never sounded like anything but themselves and never did anything that was even slightly predictable.” Led by cerebral poet, singer and author Chris Desjardins (Chris D), The Flesh Eaters deliver a propulsive and unrelenting 11 song set that assaults the senses with agonized lyrics and acrobatic musicianship while reaffirming their status as punk iconoclasts.
