This might well interest a few people on the forum. After all, it is a true classic.

All the worse by him announcing that the album is his 'return to rock and roll'. Sting, seriously?

Nick, this is indeed news to me. I know one of the fella's that engineered their last album and he said that Ms Harry told him that she was seriously fearing that she would not be 'allowed' to make any more albums. I suspect she was basing this on the supposition that once the ladies of rock reach a certain age that their appeal diminish greatly. He did admit her saying as much. Fortunately that is not the case. Labels may feel that way but until fans confirm that (for whatever reason) we need to kill such nonsense and support all of a certain age who wish to carry on doing what they do without fear or prejudice. And it that sounds a bit grand then at least until someone else comes along and does it better. And honestly, if most of the current lot is anything to go by, that may never happen.

The Move - Magnetic Waves Of Sound

Here's a review, The Move's Magnetic Waves Of Sound (Or ‘The Move: Most Underrated Band Of All Freaking Time?’)

http://www.dangerousminds.net/comments/ ... s_of_sound

Personally, I find this new release of great personal satisfaction as this group has been huge for me since I was a child. I have always thought that their records sounded terrible (the best sounding being 'Shazam!. Some of the greatest pop songs ever written shamefully hampered by poor recordings. Even a lot of the remasters done in recent years have left the wish for full fidelity wanting. I remember sadly assenting to myself that perhaps this is the best their work will ever sound. So now I am awaiting said collection to confirm or deny my fears.

Thank you, Cherry Red.
