Remembering Keith Emerson, who would have turned 74 today.

I will have a listen to Keith Emerson's Piano Concerto tonight.

I had a listen to Welcome Back My Friends To The Show That Never Ends last night, along with Keith Emerson With The Nice.

I found a public group on Facebook called Remembering Keith Emerson with lots of pictures and memories:

Check out Keiths score for the Dario Argento horror film "Inferno".
Also, "Nighthawks" starring Stallone.
Both can be found on You Tube.

Thanks, Alan. I do have the Nighthawks and Inferno soundtracks on vinyl. I appreciate the YouTube tip.

I've been enjoying Keith's early work with The Nice via their 3-CD boxset, and revisiting my ELP collection. I'll never forget their Works concert here in '77 with the orchestra.

I think Keith Emerson is one of the most significant composers of the 20th century. Not too many people can score for an orchestra and a rock band...with pencil and paper no less.

Thanks for remembering Keith.

Tom

I agree, Keith was an amazing talent. Frank Zappa and Joe Jackson both can score for orchestra's also.

And we just had the anniversary of the release of Brain Salad Surgery on 19 November 1973.

A mere 45 years ago.

I had a promotional 45 of BSS. That is how old I am. Listened to it practically non-stop while at the University of Washington.
