The new stuff is making some of the old stuff sound like crap
Endless Joy was an endless joy to create; patched together bits (but no overdubs) of another experimental 'session' with EBow and electric guitar , and lots of pedals . An octave pedal gives much-needed lower register to the EBow while it (EBow) is in harmonic mode . 8)

I liked it - pretty spaced out.......that could be the Night Nurse of course.....

When you say 'old' stuff, I take it you mean old electric stuff?

Your old acoustic music is awesome! 8)

Dar, I love it!. It's quite hauntingly lovely.

Nice use of the stereo pan.

Thanks, yes, I meant some of the early EBow work as sounding
a bit oafish compared to how things are coming along now .
I'm still heavy in free-form mode , largely because it's hard to get consistent stretches of decent sounding EBow playing, and easy to patch the short good sections together . Easy to make fun noises with pedals, and slow to try and do multitrack recordinmg and editing .
Lazy in some ways but tedious work getting settings right on 8 different gadgets , when one setting change can domino into the need to change them all , but it's fun as hell :D

Thank you. That pan is one of the delay modes on my
one high-ish -end pedal, the TC Electronics Nova Delay .
More to come from the noodle session I edited this one from .
It will sound similar but have mutations  Same mode ,
Open A string as the base/bass/ root, and melodic meandering
up and down that string . That's about the extent of the guitar
playing here; very minimalist.

I enjoyed Endless Joy, Dar. I had the idea that you could make some pretty interesting loops with some of these compositions, either with a loop pedal or recording tape. I know Bill used to make the odd tape loop in the Drastic Plastic & Red Noise days.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I've had variations of it washing over me for 3 days and it's wonderful 8) . I'm almost ready to do a little real looping .... I've left all the settings where they were and should be able to get another nice groove going .

I just finished listening to this and to "New Cloud Cathedrals." I really like both of them. And of course, my favorite, "The Jimi Hendrix Abduction Experience." Great music with a little humor. Winning combination.

Dar,

Just finished checking out some of your sonic soundscapes. It sounds like you're having a lot of fun, and the sounds you're getting must be a delight to discover. I was wondering if you invested in a Wond yet? From the videos that were provided, the Wond is almost like the e-bow on steroids!! I really wish that Bill would get one. It would take his playing into the next dimension, going beyond anything that the e-bow can do.

Then again, I guess that you already have enough sounds and effects to last you years. Maybe you can ask for one for Christmas? Like they say, we boys do grow up, but our toys get more expensive!! Joe
