Yep, I'm staying at Olga's again this year - see you there Mr Hg !

The breakfast's are pretty good and it's a nice walk along the river
into York centre.

Nice one Jeff!..I was a bit concerned it might be too much of a walk. We're not as young as we used to be, let's face it..

Actually there was an option to stay at the Holmlea for a tenner less..with a continental breakfast!..I mean..if you can't have a slap up English when you're on holiday, when can you have one?!!..

Well, it's only about a 20 min briskish walk into York from Olga's.

Turn left out of the door, then a right, then a left down Alma Terrace
past 'The Wellie' and then you're on the riverside. Hang a right and walk
up into York at King's Staith, over Ouse bridge and the Park Inn
(aka Viking Hotel) is within a stone's throw.

A nice constitutional to walk off a bit of that Olgas breakfast ... :)

There was still a handful of B&Bs doing £30 rooms last time I looked, Alan. Some insisted on a 3 night minimum stay because it's 'Saint Nicholas Fayre' weekend, but I'm sure you'll find something if you check the York B&B sites..
