'PICTURE POST' is an easy album to get into and enjoy, nothing to frighten the horses. But at the same time, it's not a 'stupid' album that panders to lowest common denominators. It has a certain subtlety of style and a deliberately 'understated' surface. But once you've made yourself familiar with it, you'll begin to discover all kinds of tricky twists and turns, nods and winks beneath its designer veneer...The album is a gently dreamy little puzzle, with a big, beautiful picture at the end of it.

I still think the album should have been called Lick It & Stick It.

:)

Absolutely echo that! Thank you SOS! CD ordered online Friday lunchtime and package arrived Saturday morning. Fabulous. Oh, and Big Jon also delivered my Nelsonica 10 ticket (not in person, of course). Accommodation booked. All in all, a damned good weekend.

After my initial bit of stupidity claiming that I'd not even heard of it, I have read all about this project and the CD. I remember it now. . .doh
I've been so busy with my own music lately. I've just ordered it, so Angie, I'll probably be putting it into my stereo on Wednesday with a bit of luck.!
And thankyou Bill, for filling in some of the details for me. Can't wait to hear it. The artwork looks good.

Thanks Bill! The one-at-a-time approach is more economical for us too! :D

I would love to buy Bills work two at a time instead of handing over nearly a 100 bucks a piece for stuff not even 6 years old on ebay! I am far from rich, but have found Bills work a total bargain in terms of quality so am willing to pay when he release,s anytime.

It's not just a financial economy either. I find it easier on the ears to focus on one release at a time also. Bill's albums are so packed with information, when he does multiple releases, I can be confronted with so much material , it's easy to overlook or miss things, or even to start getting a little ear fatigue from trying to take it all in at once. I like being able to concentrate on smaller bites, especially when they are as complexly rewarding as Bill's latest offerings.

Sure enough, my copy of Picture Post arrived this very morning (Wednesday). Seeing as I only ordered it on Monday, I'd say that was a very fast turn around. A big slap on the back to all at SOS. Brilliant. I'll have to go now, I've a Cd that's waiting to be played . . . :D
