Very nice Peter... covers all of the bases. Maybe vip seating won't be enough reward. Maybe Bill will want to give you a big kiss  He ain't as pretty as he used to be but then who amongst is?

Although I love the music, I'm happy to stand and don't need vip seating or any other more personal suggestions :D :o

And no need for mouth to mouth from any of the male Nelsonians or ladyboys ...

I'll take Rick Wakeman, I've got a kind of 'in 'there so may stand a chance. Have also re emailed Mark Radcliffe with a gentle reminder that he has drummed with Bill and may feel the urge to play the relevant track.

Just stumbled over Legs and Co's 'interpretation' of Maid in Heaven - Now I wonder if we can enlist them to promote the Legends gig :-) ??

Owz about that then guys and gals?

p.s. I presume this is the kind of dance routine we'll be getting from Jon, Dave and the gang.... ?

AFAIK Rick Wakeman is no longer on Planet Rock. Don't know whether his e-mail address still works.

Thank you Sir Alan,

Here's the basic script - you can modify it to suit Evans and Mayo as you wish. No need to send a pic. Edit the bracketed bits before sending...

You are hired by the way...

Hi (name),

Please, please will you play something by the great Bill Nelson on the show? As you probably know Bill led pop art group Be-Bop Deluxe and was way ahead of his time. You may not know that he has influenced artists such as The Darkness, Big Country, Razorlight, The Kaiser Chiefs and My Chemical Romance.

Bill Nelson does not perform much these days, but he is doing a one off concert with a seven piece band as part of the Legends series at London's Metropolis Studios on March 26. I've managed to get one of just 125 tickets for the show. Please let's hear a song from this hugely under-played artist. My favourites include (insert 2-3 choices). I'm told that your correspondent Martin Shankleman is a Bill Nelson fan as well, so it seems I'm in good company.

(If you can, say something topical about Evans / Mayo here)

Great stuff!

(need to include name, contact phone and location)
