Can't wait to read this interview. 8) 8) 8)

Thanks Guitar Player for making this happen.

Next he'll be telling us that downloads are the way forward.

Cracking interview though. Nice change to read something where the interviewer really knows the subject and can ask questions that draw out interesting answers.

I've been getting some very positive feedback from Duane's fanbase, (independent of the good comments posted here.) Seems that many of them think that's it's one of the very best interviews they've ever had from Duane...which makes me feel extremely happy and proud to have been able to conduct it... :D

The beauty is in the details. Surely a good healthy portion of those questions were never asked before, if ever revealed, and certainly apropos for someone of such historic calibre. And very welcomed, filling in all the personal details which help to colour-in the man who became such a cross-over musical legend.

Very nice job, Bill.

Wow!!! That was amazing. Like two interviews in one. I really liked Duane talking about wanting to write a hit record during those early recordings. Having to as a means of making the next record, too. 8) I think that is really a lost concept with musicians of value and worth. The whole arena of hit music gas been so contaminated that the idea of having a hit record is something to be avoided.

Really great work Bill. 8) 8) 8)

Hats off to Guitar Player again. What a treasure this is.

What is also very cool is the intro by Michael Molenda. I can imagine many a reader pondering "Who in the world is this Bill Nelson guy?"
I hope their curiosity will lead to more people discovering what we have been so privileged to experience these past decades. (Has it really been that long? My God, yes it has! :o )

The print version of the January issue of 'Guitar Player' magazine hit the UK's WH Smith stores a couple of days ago. I bought myself a copy and both Duane's name and mine feature on the front cover. Even though the printed version of the interview is extracted from the unedited, on-line version, it's still a very substantial piece and occupies a lot of space in the magazine. It also features a great, (recent,) pic of Duane and a photo' of myself with a handful of my archtop guitars. I'm very grateful to the magazine's editor, Michael Molenda, for his kind words at the head of the piece too. Pick up a copy if you can and enjoy.
