As some of you may know, I've been trying to tempt some lapsed fans on Facebook to investigate my more recent music. There's a Be Bop Deluxe Facebook page, plus a 'Fans Of Bill Nelson And Be Bop Deluxe' Facebook page, (plus my own personal page.)

I've mentioned elsewhere on the forum how shocked I was by the number of people joining these pages who appear to have literally no knowledge of my career beyond the 1970s or early '80s, though they seem to enjoy wallowing in the nostalgia of the Be Bop Deluxe era in a big way.

So...one of my crafty ploys to drag 'em kicking and screaming into the 21st Century has been to post videos of some of my more recent recordings that might prove palatable to them.

So, here's a new one I made for the track 'The Golden Days Of Radio' from my 'Fancy Planets' album. I chose this track because of its deliberate classic rock feel and its sentimental homage to various artists, (including Be Bop Deluxe.) The video I've assembled for the track evokes this nostalgic vibe. Check it out in Dreamsville's Essoldo Cinema. Here's the link:

Ha ha! That was fantastic! It gave me a chuckle a couple times. The part about Mott the Hoople cracked me up. Very witty and well put together! That should turn em on I'll wager! 8)

Brilliant! Floating some shots of Be Bop Deluxe in front of their noses will bring them along like burritos to the carrot

It's like Real Men With Ray Guns art and design in motion. :D

I love the waltz theme throughout.

The people waltzing bring my ears to hear this song in waltz time.

Great syncs!! 8)

And I guess I was wrong. That's not waltzing. That's Swing Dance at was done in the 1950s, appropriately enough! :)

It's amazing to see the heads bopping, from several decades ago, in earnest and in perfect time to the beat of this track. 8)

Many fortuitous syncs like that. 8)

That first person running up the stairs I thought was James Dean and then I thought of Marlon Brando in 'The Wild One', which is forever in my mind as 'The Wild Bunch' ...

Great fun. I've always loved this track.

Neill

PS would make a great backing video for a live performance at the next Nelsonica....
