I really don't know what to say, Bill, I doubt if anything any of us can say would make this any easier for you. I was only fortunate enough to speak to Ian twice, the last time being at the Lost Satellites gig in Edinburgh and my abiding memory of him will be that big, warm smile he always seemed to have on his face. An instantly likeable man and I'm sure he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. My heartfelt condolonces to you and your family.

Graeme

I'm stunned at this news. I can't quite believe it. My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family at this time Bill.
I briefly met and spoke with Ian at a couple of the Nelsonica's and he came across as genuinely lovely bloke who was more than happy to chat to a couple of complete strangers who were slightly the worse for wear at the time and who wanted to chat about Fiat Lux... get photo's taken with him etc. I know this is all a bit random but I'm a bit taken aback by this

What a great bloke and such a sad loss.
I had the pleasure of meeting Ian during the 2004 tour and have some wonderful memories.
