To Bill and family, I am deeply shocked by this terrible news.Ian was a lovely fella who I was lucky enough to meet and chat with a good few times over the years.I had hoped his health problems were behind him but sadly not.We have lost a lovely man and great musician and my heart
goes out to all the Nelson clan and extended family.

R.I.P. Ian.

God Bless.

Stunned. Like many others here I met Ian a few times and he really was the nicest guy, and a bloody good musician too.

My thoughts are with all of Ian's family and friends.

Some great sax in Heaven tonight.......

This is impossibly painful for me to write, but I have to inform everyone that my dearly loved and gentle brother Ian died peacefully in his sleep yesterday morning, on the day of his 50th birthday.

I cannot possibly imagine what you & your family are going through.

Loosing a parent is difficult. Loosing a brother, especially a younger brother, must be doubly hard.

Since I passed the 50 milestone back in January, it makes me wince a bit as well.

My thoughts are with you. Focus on the life lived. The times that were good. The moments that were golden.

My sincere condolences Bill, to you and your family. I was so very shocked to hear this news.

My heartfelt sympathy especially for your Mum, she'll need a lot of support and her family close by.

My sincere condolences to all Ian's family and friends.

He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by many.

Sad, sad news indeed.

I am so sorry and saddened to read of this, Bill. Ian went out of his way to make me feel very welcomed and comfortable at the Leeds aftershow on your 2003 tour. I'll never forget that.

Sincere condolences to the entire Nelson family and Ian's close friends.
