Just to let you know that day 2 of this year's Nelsonica rehearsals has concluded. A frustrating day in many ways...gremlins in my equipment caused concern verging on panic...too complex to relate here but hopefully sorted, (apart from one worrying, persistent problem with my Nelsonic signature guitar.)
Our new drummer, the multi-talented Steve Alexander, suffered problems getting to Leeds from London, his midday arrival time ended up being closer to 6pm due to problems on the A1, mad traffic and bad weather. So, we only managed to bash through a couple of songs with him before my voice gave out. (We'd been rehearsing all day with no more than foot tapping to keep us in time.) By the time Steve arrived my energy levels had just about vapourised. But he's a terrific musician and is really going to add some excitement to the band set.

Finally drove home to see York featured on the national tv news headlines, stories about severe flooding in the centre of town and warnings relating to villages along the River Ouse as far as Cawood and Selby. The rainfall has been so extreme the last couple of days, homes evacuated, damage to property, etc, etc.

Another rehearsal tomorrow...Theo Travis joining us so we will have the full 7-piece Gentleman Rocketeers for the first time since we performed for the 'Legends' DVD recording, more than 18 months ago. Lots to catch up on though, due to today's problems.
Just want to say that I'm unable to answer private messages on the site until after Nelsonica as I'm now in an 'every second counts' situation, time-wise. So, I'd appreciate it if you'd forgive me if you've not had a reply. All time and energy is now reserved for Nelsonica. Many thanks...see you on Saturday! :D

Just had a look at the location of the local York car parks offer for being nice and close to the Hotel...and they are all closed due to the flooding! Hope the rain stops and the drains can cope by Saturday! Looking forward to my 1st Nelsonica! :D

It's all going to be great Bill....as I'm sure it always is

Just make sure you have that very long deserved break after Saturday :)

We'll all have a new album to enjoy after all and I'm sure we all appreciate your need to put your feet up, for a while 8)
