I personally prefer the new, when in lossless form FLAC.
I understand the need/desire to collect but, view it ultimately as a losing gamble. I prefer to enjoy the WORK no matter what medium I consume it in.
I also prefer FLAC - many people have setups to stream FLAC through their home stereo, and it's very convenient when controlled from an iPad or computer.
On the second point - while I like the convenience of digital files, I do like to have liner notes, etc. But the collectability issue -- I couldn't care less. It is the work that's important. And to this point, I would encourage Mr. Nelson to reissue otherwise unobtainable works as digital downloads. While I enjoy having a copy of "Last of The Neon Cynics" as a CD, I would like _everyone_ who might enjoy it to be able to hear it. The same goes for 'Clocks & Dials' - I'm sure there are people who couldn't get it when it was originally out - and I think these people deserve a chance to hear it.
Sorry to get on the soapbox here, so I'll stop now...
