Genuinely shocked to hear of the passing of Mark Hollis, of Talk Talk, at the age of 64.

Saw them in '84 at Birmingham Odeon having won a pair of tickets in a local newspaper competition. Had seen then support Duran Duran in '82 at the start of their career.

Like a fine wine they matured over time with the Colour of Spring, then the sparse and textured final two albums which seem to have garnered a better critical reception over the passing years than they did at the time.

Hollis did a solo album in '98 then withdrew from music.

A great talent has been lost. RIP Mark.

Laughing Stock and his solo self titled album are two of my real favorites. Laughing stock in particular is genius, complete and total.
